Question with boldness even the existence of a God; because, if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind-folded fear. Thomas Jefferson

Standing on the Corner Watching All The Storms Drift By
When I left work on Friday we were told to monitor Hurricane Ike's progress, since the proposed track of the storm had it hanging a rico and coming at us as early as Thursday. Well maybe there is a giant hurricane repelling magnet hidden in the sand at St. Pete beach, or we're just lucky, but now the beastie seems headed for a Texas holiday instead. Ah well, I was hoping it would at least get close enough for it to cool things off a tad.
I learned a valuable lesson yesterday. Do not try to blog while watching football, drinking beer, and struggling to stay awake. Our couch is one of those rare pieces of furniture that has a snooze-field(tm) surrounding it, and no matter what time of day I plunk down upon it I will inevitably find myself grappling with an over zealous Sandman. Sorry about the crappy quality of yesterday's post.
On a completely unrelated note, do you ever find that your internal stereo is trying to drive you insane? There is always some song or other playing in my head, but usually it is a quietish background thing. For the last couple of days, however, DaVinci's Notebook's song Internet Porn has been battling with that Mean Little Kitty song I posted the other day, and if my ears were speakers noone in the neighborhood would have gotten any sleep for days now. And to make matters worse, I tend to clench my teeth to the rhythm of the song in my head, and every now and then my jaw muscles ache. I don't know why my brain hates me.
And now, for your listening pleasure, here are DaVinci's Notebook singing Internet Porn on the Bob and Tom show. Enjoy.

I don't know if you watch The Office, but I have had Hunter's stupid song in my head for months.
I have tried to watch The Office, but having never worked in one most of the jokes meant nothing to me.
You don't really need to have worked in an office to get the jokes... They're just not that funny. Most of the humor in the show is character driven, and if you don't know the characters, it is not going to keep your interest.
As for "Ike", I was getting tired of the "it can go either way" predictions and was elated when they finally decided what path it was going to take. (Doubly elated, actually, as it is going to miss us...)
Just don't go around telling everybody you are obsessed with Internet porn. It could be taken the wrong way.
