A Thought
Whoever domesticated the cat was obviously tired of the drudgery of sleeping.
I think that they thought sleeping was best left in the hands, er, paws of the professionals. After all, creatures who sleep 18-20 hours a day must be MUCH better at it than the human amateurs.
