I have purposely avoided the Dick Cheney shooting, since the Daily Show, and PIKARESQUE have already done such a fine job with it, but the interview he gave today has inspired me to point something out. "The image of him falling is something I'll never ever be able to get out of my mind," Cheney told Fox's Brit Hume. "I fired, and there's Harry falling. It was, I'd have to say, one of the worst days of my life at that moment."
It's a little different when you are pulling the trigger yourself, isn't it, Mr. Vice President.
Not that I really believe he's all that broken up about it, but to hear a man who has been directly responsible for so much death claim to be upset at shooting someone with bird shot seems a little disingenuous, wouldn't you say?

Actually, if it were just a couple of guys of the same age hunting who had no political connections whatsoever, then I'd just expect jokes about stupid rednecks instead of all the scorn and commentary from all the enlightened.

How dare you compare a tragic hunting accident with defending freedom? Yes the VP has directed the demise of many individuals... They are called TERRORISTS!! Had we not liberated Iraqi, Sadaam would have surely used some of his weapons of mass destruction by now. My pastor makes a special prayer (and collects a special offering)for our leaders. IF YOU DO NOT SUPPORT THE PRESIDENT MOVE TO EUROPE. There is no room in a democracy for people who disagree with the leadership.
The worst part of this story... the VP shot a prosecutor in Texas. This means that liberals and other criminals in Texas will have less to worry about. Shame Marius shame!

LASTLY...Marius is spot on! Dick Cheney never
served in the military but sure as shit wanted everyone elses' poor kids to do the shooting for him!
And to anonymuous... give your $$ to your pastor of whatever (we really don't care, and that's a LOT of bragging for a Christian I'd say...I thought charity was supposed to be in secret..not so that we'd all say "Oh, how flippin great to are to give $$$...besides save your $$ for Social Security my dear, you are going to need it baby!)
AND There is room for evryone in a Democracy you dim bulb...that's what a Democracy is all about!
Otherwise it would be the United States of Lemmings!
